Learn how to design and carve your own ring in wax with Geraldine from Isle Jewellery.
In a small group, we will use simple tools and techniques in the relaxed surroundings of Geraldine’s studio in Annalong, Co. Down, complete with sea and mountain views.
No previous experience of jewellery-making is necessary, the joy of working in wax is that it can be melted and reformed in endless ways. Soft forms or angular shapes can be coaxed from the same starting point, using little more than a file and a flame.
After the 2-hour workshop, your finished wax model will be cast in sterling silver using the traditional lost wax casting method.
The ticket price includes the cost of casting your ring in silver which will be available to collect from 2-3 weeks after the workshop. For those who wish to make their creations even more precious, there will also be the option to cast your ring design in gold, instead of silver, for an additional cost, quoted based on the weight of the design.
Tea, coffee and treats will be provided :)
